Songlines of Freedom

We go down into the ground
like worms eating whatever is found
when we could just as easily fly in the sky
like winged serpents swirling so high.

But all is not lost when we fall from bliss.

As emotional beings
we can also reach
life's joyful heights
after plumbing
its miserable
pits.

To unfurl the wings of your soul
remember that your heart is a diving bird
that can swim to the bottom
of every ocean of emotion
just as easily as it can fly
into the deep blue sky,
and higher still until
you're soaring beyond
the edge of space and time.
