Gritty Bliss

We push & pull ourselves
towards each other
until what is unknown of ourselves
becomes entangled inside each other.

This primeval bloodrun
seeps through cracks
in the floor of our unknowing,
congealing into cellarlike roots
that braid & coil themselves
in twisted formations
around the dark stones
of an archaic language,
a murmuring too insidious, too nocturnal
to reveal in the emission
of the solitary lights we live by.

And yet we struggle
to disentangle these primitive patterns
never realizing how deeply
we enter each others lives,
how much we secretly
and unknowingly sacrifice
on the altar of the other
wishing to birth another way out.

We must learn to separate
our knotted nerves & tendrils
with magical precision.

We must feel
our sorrow now
in order to move deeper
into ourselves and each other
where a fullness without form
vibrates clearly into ones that comfort us.
